II. Removal and Updates of Packages

A. Piranha

1. As a result of conflicting versions of ipvsadm the Piranha package supplied by Red Hat should be removed for a clean install of Ultra Monkey. This can be done using the following commands:

rpm -q piranha-docs >& /dev/null && rpm -ev piranha-docs
rpm -q piranha-gui >& /dev/null && rpm -ev piranha-gui (may not be installed)
rpm -q piranha >& /dev/null && rpm -ev piranha

or, even easier:

rpm -e piranha-docs
rpm -e piranha-gui
rpm -e piranha

B. Upgrade perl

1. rpm -Uvh

2. Force Install of perl libnet

Rpm -ivh --force

C. Download Ultra Monkey if you haven't already done so. Ultra Monkey comes with a number of updated and additional packages. These should be installed using the following command in the directory that contains the Ultra Monkey RPMS:

rpm -Uhv \
LWP.pm-5.48-2.i386.rpm \
URI-1.09-1.i386.rpm \
MIME-Base64-2.11-2.i386.rpm \
heartbeat-0.4.8-1.um.3.i386.rpm \
initscripts-5.00-1.2.um.1.i386.rpm \
