Congratulations
You've completed the Internet Encyclopedia's Programmed
Instruction Course. In a way, of course, you've only just begin.
We haven't studied FTP, or mail, or routing, or security, or - well,
you get the idea.
I do hope that the next time you transfer a web page, you have
a lot better idea of just what happens behind the scenes.
To continue from here, I suggest you go to the
Topical Core and begin
reading the sections that interest you. As you go, delve into the RFCs
to muddle through how things really work. And, of course, there's
lot of Internet topics that aren't covered anywhere in the encyclopedia.
There are now almost 2000 RFCs, of which less than 100 are represented
here. Douglas Comer's Internetworking with TCP/IP is an
excellent multi-volume text that covers many important points
I've either ignored or glossed over.
And now, please
email me
to let me know you made it!
Again, congratulations!
